What is the most suitable container for storing coffee?
Treating guests with coffee is not only a habit, but also a basic etiquette. Therefore, every family will save coffee more or less. If you are a coffee lover, the preservation of coffee is particularly important. Before talking about the preservation method, today I will focus on the advantages and disadvantages of various coffee storage containers.
According to the different container materials, it is divided into hard containers and soft containers. The following introduces the advantages and disadvantages of the eight types of coffee storage containers
Hard container
1. Ceramic pot
Suitable for storing all kinds of coffee.
Advantages: high air permeability and beautiful appearance.
Disadvantages: fragile, space-consuming and relatively high price.
Suggestion: Since ceramic pots are produced by firing, they often have the smell after fire, it is recommended to deal with them first. The newly-purchased pottery jar is washed with clean water inside and out, soaked in clean water for a week (requires water change), then exposed to dryness in the sun, and left to cool for 2 days. After this treatment, there is basically no smell, and it can be used to store tea.
After treatment, there are still odors, you need to consider whether it is a ceramic jar, for example, the quality is checked by chemical methods.
Ceramic pots can also store black tea and black tea. They are generally hermetic and have good light and moisture resistance. But the biggest disadvantage is that it is not durable, fragile, and more suitable for viewing.
2. Metal can
Coffee suitable for storage: If it is a tin can, it is mostly used for the storage of coffee, tea, and biscuits. It has high hardness and is not easily deformed; it has good sealing, good light resistance, compression resistance, and easy to carry. Suitable for storing valuable tea leaves.
Advantages: good sealing, easy to carry, is a good choice for families to store a small amount of drinking coffee and go out to use.
Disadvantages: It is greatly affected by the external environment and has poor thermal insulation. It is easy to cause high temperature to damage the coffee without notice.
Suggestions: Iron cans, tin cans, etc. are all metal cans. Due to the oil stains during manufacturing, it is recommended to wash them thoroughly and dry them.
3. Clay pot
Teas suitable for preservation: black tea and black tea.
Advantages: breathable and cheap.
Disadvantages: fragile and take up space.
Suggestion: It is better not to choose the inner wall glazed, because the inner wall is glazed is not conducive to ventilation. The treatment method is the same as the purple sand tank.
4. Plastic tank
Suitable for preserved coffee, but not suitable for long-term preservation of coffee.
Advantages: good sealing, easy to carry, cheap, suitable for short-term storage.
Disadvantages: With a plastic smell, it will produce an odor under the effect of sealing and temperature.
Suggestion: Mainly consider the length of storage period of tea, short-term is acceptable, long-term is not recommended.
5. Soft container
a. Carton
Suitable for storing coffee, it should be placed in a dark and dry place.
Advantages: less space occupation, convenient and practical, dustproof has certain breathability and moisture resistance, cheap price, and convenient materials.
Disadvantages: easy to get wet.
Recommendation: Can be used in conjunction with other containers and packaging, pay attention to moisture and waterproof.
b. Paper
Suitable for coffee preservation
Advantages: strong plasticity, convenient and practical, easy to obtain materials
Disadvantages: easy to get wet, if it is a newspaper, it has the smell of ink and easy to fade
Suggestions: Common papers are kraft paper, rice paper, newspapers, etc. Due to the smell of ink in the newspapers, it is recommended not to wrap the tea directly in the newspaper. You can wrap it with other papers first and then wrap the newspaper in the outer layer.
C. cloth bag

The cloth bag has high air permeability and is easy to get wet. It is recommended to use it with carton.

Coffee suitable for preservation, not suitable for long-term preservation of coffee.

Put the coffee in a plastic bag (without tying) and then put it in a paper bag for easy access, moisture-proof and convenient. If it is green tea, put it in the refrigerator after putting it in a fresh-keeping bag.
